As parents, we all want our children to mature and become equipped to accept any challenge that life has offer. Parents are always concerned that their choices and decisions are the right ones for their children. After all, guiding children to choose the right directions daily helps to instill values and give the child an early head start in decision making creatively.
Introducing children to values necessitates guidance to think creatively and constructively consistent with specific rules to teach discipline and self-control.
Back when my first child was a baby, I did a lot of research on the best way to nurturing her to become a creative thinker and a successful problem solver. There is a correlation between classical music training, brain development, and creativity.
According to the article An Easy Way to Increase Creativity, “social psychologists have discovered that creativity is not only a characteristic of the individual, but may also change depending on the situation and context”.
Classical music literally activates certain areas of the brain that are responsible for memory, creativity, and intelligence. Advanced medical technology such as PET scans and MRI imaging have made it possible to examine the parts of the brain that become active while a person is listening to music or playing an instrument. The term “Mozart Effect” has even been publicized as a way to develop spatial ability.
I have utilized classical music as part of our bedtime routine as well as during study time for my oldest child. The relaxation and focus attained from classical music is amazing. Below I have listed the top 10 best classical music for relaxing and focus for children. Let me know what you think.
