Lately my husband and I have been experimenting with a lot of new recipes as part of our ketogenic lifestyle. We love hearty, rich meals that require very little preparation.
I absolutely love fathead pizza but red sauce can sometimes become boring and bland if not prepared correctly. Luckily, my grandmother taught me how to create the perfect red sauce. But sometimes, I just want something different.
That’s when I cam up with this Easy Alfredo Sauce recipe as a great way to transform regular fathead pizza, Miracle Noodles, and even vegetables into something spectacular. But it wasn’t without a little experimenting that I came up with this great sauce. Luckily you don’t have to experiment because I have laid it all out here for you.
The secret to a great Alfredo sauce is the combination of ingredients and method. Alfredo sauce is exceptionally rich, with the main ingredient being heavy cream. This makes this sauce an exceptional substitute to the typical red sauces normally associated with Italian dishes.
When you are ready to prepare your Alfredo sauce, make sure to have all of your ingredients available in advance. The procedure to creating this sauce is very quick, so you will want to ensure you have all ingredients at-hand so you don’t risk burning your sauce as you cook. Burning the cream is the most common reason that Alfredo dishes are ruined. However, a little preparation can prevent disaster.
The ingredients you will need for this simple Alfredo sauce are:
- Heavy Cream
- Butter
- Garlic clove
- Cream Cheese
- Parmesan Cheese
As with everything in life, higher quality ingredients will result in a better sauce. Try to use the real, authentic Parmigiano Reggiano cheese; organic heavy whipping cream; grass fed butter; and full fat cream cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 stick of butter
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 3 oz cream cheese
- 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 clove of garlic
Instructions
- Heat the butter, heavy cream, and cream cheese until melted.
- Add the remaining ingredients and simmer low for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
