20111006 RIP Steve JobsSearching for a new job can be a daunting task, especially in this economy. Even in-demand career fields are slow to hire. According to the Wall Street Journal, last month over 7 million Americans worked part-time jobs because they were unable to find a full-time job. While job hunting can seem very difficult at times, it is not entirely impossible.

The key to finding and keeping a job in these tough economic times is positive action. The more positive action you take to find a job and to become a better employee, the better your chances of landing a great job.

Sometimes taking positive action means working your way up from the bottom of the company. Oftentimes the hours are not great, the pay is not optimal, but the end result is the ultimate reward. Here is a great example of how to put positive action into play.

This job was posted for a “Director of Operations” position at Rehtom Inc., and while it does not immediately look appealing, 24 people applied for this position.

A few requirements included:
• Standing up constantly
• Constantly exerting yourself
• A degree in medicine, finance and culinary arts necessary
• The workload increases on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s and other holidays
