2TbspCold pressed extra virgin olive oil
Steakhouse seasoning OR kosher salt and pepperto taste
Instructions
Prepare the steaks by brushing both sides with cold pressed extra virgin olive oil.
Season steaks with steak seasoning (I use Simply Organic’s Chophouse Seasoning) or simply just Kosher salt and pepper.
Preheat your oven to 500 degrees F. Preheat a cast iron frying pan on the stove on high heat.
Place the steak into the center of the frying pan. Do not oil the frying pan.
Cook steak without moving it until the underside is golden brown, about 3 minutes.
Flip the steak with the tongs.
Using potholders/oven mitts, immediately move the pan to the oven.
Cook steak in in the oven for 2 to 8 minutes based on your preference. 2 minutes medium rare (130 degrees F), 4 minutes medium (140 degrees F), 6 minutes for medium well(150 degrees F) and 8 minutes for well done (160 degrees F +).
Using potholders/oven mitts, remove the steak from the oven and place it on a plate.
Allow the steak to rest for 5 to 10 minutes. This will help to complete the cooking process.
Notes
Complete your entrée with a nice garden salad, steamed broccoli, baked potato/baked sweet potato, grilled onions and mushrooms, and dinner rolls (Dinner rolls can be omitted if you are following a low carb or Paleo lifestyle).
