WISDOM-WEDNESDAY-SEXYMOXIEMAMA-RUMI-CREATIVITY

Happy Hump Day! Welcome to another edition of Wisdom Wednesday. Last week’s virtue was contentment. This week’s virtue is creativity.

Creativity is simply the ability to create something. It is a virtue relating to the production of innovative conceptions or ideas. Creative people have an undying need to be creative as a means of fresh, diverse, and intricate stimulation; to share values and ideas, and/or to problem solve.

Creativity does not just pertain to the arts. Both the science and business industries have also produced extremely creative people. So what makes someone truly a “creative person?” History shows that to be creative, you must have the ability to see things from varying perspectives or “outside the box.” Creativity also demands the ability to create new possibilities. The capability to produce unique alternatives is associated with additional, primary traits such as gratification of the indefinite, flexibility, and the acceptance of vagueness.

One learns to be creative by using imagination, investigating, testing, questioning, and blending acquired information. Learning to be creative is similar to learning how to play a new sport. It requires practice, intensity, persistence, and the right environment.

 10 Wisdom Wednesday/Virtue Quotes: Creativity

1. “Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. 3. “The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.”—Albert Einstein

9. “The thing about creativity is, people are going to laugh at it. Get over it.” –Twyla Tharp

10. “Creativity is essentially a lonely art. An even lonelier struggle. To some a blessing. To others a curse. It is in reality the ability to reach inside yourself and drag forth from your very soul an idea.” –Lou Dorfsman
