Be-Brave-quote

Good evening and welcome to this week’s edition of Wisdom Wednesday. Last week’s post was focused on the virtue of generosity. This week’s virtue is bravery.

Bravery is a characteristic of spirit that allows a person to face danger or pain without demonstrating fear. Just like fear comes in many forms, so too does bravery. Military members, firefighters, and police officers show bravery by putting their lives on the line daily for the good and safety of others. Bravery also shows up in the way that a person acts in the face of adversity within their own life. So too does bravery show itself in the person who fights and beats cancer only to find that her cancer has metastasized to other organs. Personal adversity can show up in many forms, from monetary issues to physical health problems to relationship issues, how one deals with these challenges is essential.

The capability of a person to look outside their worries and anger with the intention to live their life above the adversity requires bravery and courage. It is without a doubt that terrible things happen to moral and decent people and faith will be tested. But bravery in remaining on a forward trajectory during hard times is important to the spirit.
