Turmeric tea recipe

This past month I have been feeling a little out of sorts. Maybe it is the time change, or the season changes, or just everyday life. My mind felt foggy and unsettled, my muscle sore and weak. I had been to the health food store more than once in the past month looking for something to help with this “ailment”.

One supplement that I kept seeing was turmeric. Turmeric? Wasn’t that the marigold colored spice that my Indian Mother-In-Law uses to cook with? Curcuma Longa, or Turmeric, is a member of the ginger family that grows naturally in Southeast Asian forests. It comes in pill, powder, and tea forms and has been utilized for cooking, medicines, and ceremonial planning for thousands of years. Ayurveda, an Indian holistic medicinal science, touts Turmeric as a superfood and holds it in the highest regard for its ability to heal many ailments.
