Do you have a sensitivity to gluten? Don’t worry, you are not alone. There are estimated to be nearly 18 million gluten sensitivity sufferers in the United States today. Those suffering from gluten sensitivity cannot tolerate gluten and have similar symptoms but without the intestinal damage as those with Celiac disease. Celiac disease is a severe form of gluten intolerance. It is a  genetic autoimmune disease that harms the villi in the small intestine and inhibits the absorption of food nutrients. It is estimated that 1 in 133 Americans or 1% of the population has Celiac disease, says the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness.

Whether you have been diagnosed with Celiac disease, or you suffer from a gluten sensitivity or intolerance, the treatment involves a radical shift in diet. Making the shift to a gluten-free lifestyle can be overwhelming in the beginning, but the health benefits, and decrease in symptoms makes it well worth it. Plus, with the gluten-free food industry growing, you don’t have to sacrifice taste to eat gluten-free. Instead, turn to certified organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, and kosher Ginnybakes cookies, bars, and brownies!

Ginnybakes is a family-owned company, which has a serious passion about creating outrageously delicious and nutritious treats that the entire family can love. The creator, Ginny Simon, is a holistic nutritionist, who truly believes that your body deserves only the best, most natural ingredients. With the intention of helping those who are following a gluten-free diet enjoy freshly baked goods, she has made certain that her products are organic, handmade with love in a gluten-free kitchen, and free of artificial preservatives. They even have a line of vegan treats.

They have some amazingly delicious gluten-free and organic cookies that I had the pleasure of sampling.  I received a large box via UPS stocked full of samples for the purpose of reviewing, sharing, and giving away. After I had one taste of these cookies, the sharing and giving away part became quite difficult.  I mean, who really wants to give away healthy, delicious cookies anyway?

The first thing that I noticed when I opened the box was the beautiful, hand-written note from Ginny Simon right on top of the cookies. This little gesture shows you how very passionate she is about her products. I must say, in all my years writing, I have never experienced a founder/owner/creator that is as gracious as Ginny.

The next thing that I noticed was the beautiful packaging for each flavor of cookie. About the size of a girl scout cookie box, Ginnybakes uses a sophisticated typography and color scheme to bring a fun flair to gluten-free cookies and the overall brand language.

The flavors I was lucky enough to get to sample were:

  • Chocolate chip love
  • Chocolate chip macadamia love
  • Chocolate chip oatmeal bliss
  • Coconut oatmeal bliss
  • Double chocolate happiness
  • Butter crisp love
  • Dreamy vegan delight
  • Chocolate chip oatmeal bliss Ginnyminis

The coconut oatmeal bliss cookies were the first to be gobbled up as I sat here typing this review. I couldn’t help it, they were so light and crispy, and amazingly delicious for being a gluten-free cookie. The kids, on the other hand, had a field day sampling each of the cookies without discrimination. From what I could gather, the chocolate chip love cookies were the toddler’s favorite. The teenager enjoyed the double chocolate happiness, and the husband refused to name just one he loves (possibly in fear that I would not let him have any of the other flavors—smart man).

Ginnybakes also has a wide variety of ginnyminis, with flavors like chocolate chip oatmeal bliss, butter crisp love, and chocolate chip love. These are tiny individualized packages of little cookies are perfect for snacking, lunchbox, or in a hiking pack. Made with the same nutritious, non-GMO ingredients, these cookies are only 150 calories a serving.

If you are looking for a delectable, wholesome way to pamper your family, then try out GinnyBakes. Do you love throwing on an apron and baking? You can make GinnyBakes at home with their wide assortment of gluten-free, non-GMO baking mixes!
