avon39-trainingGood Morning! I hope that you had a fabulous weekend. It was another hectic week of training for me, this week. It seems that between freelance work, mom duties, and taking care of myself, there never appears to be enough time for training these days. I have found myself having to push quickly through workouts.

For instance, this week due to rain and my daughter’s swim and work schedules, and hubby’s work schedule, I had to move my training completely around this week to accommodate everything that is going on around here. My endurance workout that was supposed to happen on Friday and Saturday was moved to Wednesday and Thursday. Because hubby wasn’t home to watch the baby, she got the opportunity to come with me on a six-mile walk this week. She was such a trooper, I may take her with me more often.

I also had the opportunity to explore a new trail this weekend. I love hiking but have been spending so much time on the pavement that I have not had a chance to hit the dirt paths. This beautiful trail was just a few miles from my house. I just so happened to discover it while completing my endurance walk. I took the time to get a little dirt therapy on Earth Day (Saturday). What a great path. I need to be sure to get on the trails more often.

With the AVON 39 getting closer, I’m getting more and more excited! Did you know that breast cancer will take 40,000 lives in the U.S. this year? This past Saturday was the Houston Avon 39. I am so blown away by the walkers and the amount that they raised for breast cancer research and education. Their spirit continues to raise me up and help power me forward each day! Great job!

Here’s a quick update on how things are looking for my AVON 39:

  • I’m in amazement of all the awesome support I’ve received thus far. To date, I’ve raised $2000 toward breast cancer research and education. I would LOVE to reach $5000 by July!
  • I’m thrilled to say that I’ve been hitting the pavement and working hard training! I’ve been tracking my training progress, and I’ve logged over 162 training miles in nine weeks!

A huge THANK YOU to my husband and my mother-in-law who have so generously worked and supported my AVON 39!
