Hey all! Are you just beginning your keto journey or have you been keto for awhile and you’re looking for a delicious treat?  Well look no further, I’m going to share with you a little trick I’ve learned during my keto journey that has become an absolute game changer. Had I not found this drink, I probably would’ve quit keto a long time ago.

Ok, maybe not but this drink is super amazing.

So, I’m here today to share with you my recipe of this amazing drink that is all the rage in the keto communities online. I was once introduced to this drink by a wonderful barista who was graciously and patiently helping me decide on a drink that wasn’t coffee. Let’s be honest, sometimes you just need a change.

In walks the Starbucks Pink Drink.

While it’s not an “official” drink on the Starbucks menu, many baristas will know what you’re talking about if you order this drink.

I posted about this on my keto Instagram page–Mama.Fat.To.Fit— back in February 2017. This particular post got the HIGHEST engagement of any post from my keto account because everyone LOVES this drink. Since I posted this recipe, I’ve gotten tons of comments about this yummy drink.

However, as one former barista recently informed me, Starbucks is no longer using the original tea it was using to make this drink in-store. Starbucks recently switched from the sugar-free Tazo Passion Fruit tea to the Teavana Passion Fruit tea that has bits of real fruit in the tea bags. While the fruit pieces give very little sugar, it is no longer considered “keto-friendly”.

But, you don’t have to give up your love of this amazing drink. You can make the infamous Keto Pink Drink at home. With just a couple of ingredients, you too can have this yummy treat any time without the added sugar from the current in-store Pink Drink.

What You Need

To make this drink perfect, first decide what container you’ll place this pretty drink in. I like to use quart size Mason jars so I have plent of room to add ice and ingredients. Plus, I sometimes make multiple batches of the tea at once so I can have a Pink Drink on-the-go. But you could just use a glass or water bottle too.

You will also need a couple of ingredients. These ingredients include Tazo Passion Fruit Tea bags, Torani Sugar-Free Vanilla Syrup, and heavy whipping cream. Alternatively, you could omit the sugar-free vanilla syrup and use 1 tbsp pure vanilla and a keto-approved sweetener to taste.

Step 1

steeping tazo passion fruit tea

Place one tea bag into one cup of boiling water. Steep for five minutes. Remove tea bag and discard.

I place one cup of water into an uncovered mask jar and place in the microwave for five minutes (or until water begins boiling). Carefully, using oven mits, I remove the water from the microwave, place the tea bag in the jar, cover with a towel, and steep for five minutes. Remove and discard (or compost) used tea bag.

Step 2

Add one cup of crushed ice to the jar or container. I have used ice cubes as well with the same success. So, if you don’t have a way to crush ice, regular cubes will work fine.

Add the crushed ice/ ice cubes to the hot tea. Allow the ice cubes to fully melt and then add another half a cup to one cup of ice cubes to the jar or container.

Step 3

keto pink drink tea with cream

Add heavy whipping cream and sugar-free syrup (or vanilla and keto-approved sweetener) to the jar/container. If you’re using a jar, place the lid on the jar and shake vigorously for a few minutes. This will help to thicken and “whip” the whipping cream.

If you’re using a glass, just stir or shake the ingredients until combined.
